Aku had heard the Beast’s message loud and clear. From where he sat on his throne, the demon gave a mighty roar, “AZURAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!” While he could have simply texted her to meet him here, this was more his style.

Without any question, Azura gripped the bat tightly in her hands until her knuckles went pale. Her breath hitched, letting her anger rumble through her, tears flowing down her cheeks. She was done keeping it all to herself. She was tired of keeping her temper locked away or ignored.

She took a step forward into the room. One swing and the fancy flame shaped furniture cracked into two. Then she took another on the table creating dents on its surface. Then she bore holes into the walls. The floor. Anything that she could get her hands on. The cold steel matched her cold fury, and Azura simply screamed as hard as she could, destroying everything in her path.

“THIS IS WHAT YOU GET FOR CARING TOO MUCH!”

“THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU TRUST PEOPLE TOO EASILY!”

“THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS

WHEN,
YOU’RE

ME!”

Oh great, what now? She stomps through the hallway to reach her boss’s throne room, eyes glowering at him. It’s unusual to see her like this.

“What is it now?”

A mirror shattered into pieces, shards of glass surrounding her. Azura stared into the small reflections. She could only pick up on how tired her eyes looked that stared back at her. The girl threw the baseball bat away with her last ounce of anger, and turned around to face Aku once more. She was still breathing heavily, but the rage had started to simmer down.

Aku waited outside until the sounds of rage and splintering furniture and shattering glass fell silent. When he entered the room, he found Azura standing in the midst of the wreckage surrounded by glittering shards of glass, her chest heaving. She looked exhausted but he saw less fury in her eyes.

Like a solid shadow, he seemed to glide rather than walk over the debris as he approached the human. About halfway between Azura and the door, he stopped to admire the destruction around him as if it were artwork. A part of him was concerned for her, but another part marveled at the destructive nature of her anger. He then turned his attention to the artist.

“Have you finished unleashing your fury, Azura?”

Was that anger and unrest he detected? Perfect.

I have a new assignment for you, Azura.” The demon lord stood and brought her to a set of closed doors. Just outside these doors, he stopped and handed her an aluminum baseball bat.

I need you to demolish this room and everything in it,” he said. “It is just on the other side of these doors.”
