“It does now,” the demon grinned. With a snap of his clawed fingers, a rock wall of his lair was suddenly transformed. There was now a long staircase leading up to the front porch and face of a house that appeared to be built directly into the stone. Inside, it strongly resembled a traditional Japanese home constructed of dark polished wood and equipped with all the things a human would need plus a sizable bedroom and bathtub. There was even a courtyard surrounding a bottomless shaft where water flowed in an endless downward fall.
Of course, the thought of placing her in an actual cage had been the first to cross his mind, but even Aku was aware that cruelty would not lead to the results he desired. To continue delivering her best performances, her spirit would need ample freedom even if she could not leave this place again, otherwise she would fall into uselessness.
“Welcome to your new home,” he spoke with a sweeping arm gesture to the new arrangement. “My personal chambers lie directly across from you and I will call upon you as I see fit regardless of the hour.”
Across the throne room, the entrance to his personal bed chambers looked like the doorway of a massive Japanese temple built within the stone and adorned with lit torches. Obviously, Aku liked to live in a certain style…
“Now then, you are free to rest as you need.” The demon returned to his throne, allowing Yueliang some time to get herself accustomed, rest, have a bath or replenish herself. He would likely call upon her that night.
Yueliang gave him another bow as she was dismissed. She picked up her instrument before she glided up the stairs.
Inside her personal quarters, she closed the door and sighed. It was a lot better than expected. All she had to do now in order to stay alive is to keep him satisfied, not a hard feat to do. At least, she’ll only be pleasing one person an not an entire country.
A bath would be nice at her new ‘house’. And so after refreshing herself, she laid out the futon and plopped onto it.
No one would miss her. She informed her teachers that she would be away on a very long journey with no set date on when she would return. She had tons of admirers but no lovers. In a way, she was surrounded by people but she didn’t feel that she belonged anywhere.
Pulling the blanket over her delicate frame, she fell asleep while hoping that dreams will once more save her from reality.
Yueliang was allowed time to rest and acclimate to her new home, but it wouldn’t be long before she would be called to fulfill her duty for which she had been appointed. In the chamber across from her, Aku lay awake in his bed glowering at the ceiling above. Before the Samurai had become such a thorn in his side, Aku had once enjoyed restful nights, days and even weeks of unbroken sleep with dreams full of darkness and conquest. But for the past decade or two, he’d been plagued with insomnia and a good night’s rest had become a distant dream itself. This, of course, irritated Aku to no end.
He rolled onto his side and was still for hardly a minute, then turned abruptly onto the other side beneath his billowing blanket. There, he fluffed his pillow and slammed his head upon it with a loud huff. But no matter what adjustments he made, he simply couldn’t get comfortable nor could he stop his mind from racing. Finally, he sat up in bed and resigned himself to his sleepless fate. But as he sat there staring into nothingness, his miserable expression soon shifted as he recalled the new addition to his lair.
Without warning, the fortress quaked in its foundation as Aku summoned his latest prized possession:
character in general: Aku is a great character and probably my favorite part about Samurai Jack. But of course, the villain apologist like I am, I say that no story is any good without an engaging villain, be they funny, edgy, just plain evil or a mix of all of these. Aku is hysterical, and the voice acting is fantastic. All the voice acting is great, actually, but when I think Samurai Jack I think Mako Iwamotsu and how great he did with that character. Ten out of Ten.
how they play them: When I think of Unspeakablyevil, I think Mako Iwamotsu. Damn, dude, you nail his dialogue every time. I can’t help but hear his voice in my head when I read stuff. I can see his movements too, like when he bends down “knees” appear, and his expressions even without the icons. Keep on keepin on!
the mun: BOY. I love them and I get really excited when I see them on the dash. I’m gonna be real, I nicknamed you “demon” because I’m unoriginal and sometimes when I gush to my friends about plots we have (these are friends that RP as well, its hard to introduce a non RPer) I have to have names cuz theres a BIG overarching plot. I tried explaining the hatzura thing and they were like “wait wait WHO?” and I was like… whats a badass name I could give? and in the span of .03 seconds I spat out “demon” and continued on because I panicked. Either way, I love your stuff and hope to write much more in the future!
do i;
follow them: Now howcould I not? The best damn Aku I’ve run into on this site, and they deal with Black Hat just like how I imagine Aku would deal with him. Very friendly, I recommend their blog 110%.
rp with them: We’ve written a lot, actually. From crack to serious, and I’m not gonna lie my favorite one is when Aku kicked BH’s ass without even meaning to. That was fantastic.
want to rp with them: IS THIS A QUESTION???
ship their character with mine: THEY HATE EACHOTHER and its GREAT.
what is my;
overall opinion: uhhhhhhhhhh fantastic. Amazing. 10/10 muse, 10/10 mun. 10/10 i cant even. Their writing is great, they totally crush the dialogue as well as the body language, and Aku is so in character its like the show never ended.
What had begun as just another day of brooding darkly upon his throne and observing his mortal subjects with great disinterest through his spy portal turned quickly unusual when Aku spotted a curious group of creatures drilling an immense quarry into the ground. The Shogun sat forward as he eyed the machinery that had been erected there seemingly over night. Aku had opened the ports of Earth to space-traveling extraterrestrial lifeforms centuries ago and the advanced technologies they brought with them were nothing new to him. However, he was certain he hadn’t seen this particular group of creatures before and they had not sought his approval to seek refuge on his planet or set up operations. Intrigued and predictably annoyed, Aku stood and teleported himself to their location whereupon he seized their gem commander with his tentacles and demanded the whereabouts of her leader.
To make a long story (that was probably filled with torture and inter-dimensional warp-pad shenanigans) short, the demon lord eventually found himself at the place known as Homeworld, his tall figure a striking pillar of black against the pale world around him. His presence quickly disrupted business as usual and he was quickly descended upon like the giant parasite that he was. Shape-shifting into a winged bat creature, Aku took to the skies both to get away from them and to get a better look at the landscape. The planet seemed dead and broken, unfit for mortal life. Someone had done an impressive job at making it this way. Most notable of all, however, was the massive bust of gleaming white crystal that rose above all around it much like Aku’s very own citadel on Earth. Clearly, this was where the planet’s ruler resided.
While en route to the structure, a beam from a laser cannon struck his wing and Aku snarled angrily as he tumbled through the air. He should have expected they would increase their attacks the closer he came to the towering mountain of space crystal. The pain, fortunately for him, was brief and Aku shifted his form again, this time morphing into a sleek serpentine shape that was harder to strike as he wove through the air between hot energy beams. Several times he struck back at them in retaliation with his own destructive laser beams shot directly from his eyes. He was causing quite a commotion by this point as he circled round the rising peaks of the crystal fortress’s head. Perhaps it would be enough to lure the gem leader out into the open but if not, Aku would eventually teleport his way inside.
“ My Diamond; defences have engaged the assailant. Its origin is unknown and it is currently resisting all efforts at subjugation. ”
Another crash is heard and the ‘palace’ within which White resides shudders from the force. Her form remains steady though, her eyes being the only thing to move – flicking around the room to inspect for damage. Hundreds of Spinels flood into the room, surrounding White. Her pupils roll down to them and the room remains silent, yet they seem to move methodically, as though following orders.
Though in that moment, White reaches out to the entity. Although she has long since lost her ability to dominate the minds of non-gems, she could just as easily cripple it with a flick of the wrist.
Yet an ancient darkness brushes her thoughts, as her own light does much the same to it. An expression that has remained stalwart for thousands of years twitches slightly, eyes widening in what might be construed as surprise.
“ Pearl. Cease all cannon fire.
Bring the intruder inside. ”
Although it’s an unusual order, her Pearl does nothing to question it, silently complying as she slides through the wall. A handful of Spinel guards follow behind, flanking the servant.
Energy cannons power down, no longer firing upon the darkness that is encircling her lair. Pearl, though small in stature, speaks with the power and volume of her Diamond:
“ White Diamond requires your presence. You will cease aggression and follow, or be terminated. This is your only warning.”
For a few seconds she lingers, ensuring that the being understands the message, before phasing back through the walls. Following shortly afterwards is an obnoxious grinding as the doorway opens, granting Aku access.
The way is clear.
Even before White Pearl emerges from the wall of the crystal structure, Aku’s expression shifts from snarling anger to dumbstruck surprise as he senses an aura radiating from within—a cosmic power similar in magnitude to his own. But it isn’t the power of the aura that’s shocking in and of itself. No, there’s something else. It feels… familiar. Aku lands upon the great shoulder of the Head Ship as he tries to determine what it is he’s sensing, hardly noticing how the cannon fire has ceased.
That’s when he spots a tiny bubble emerge from the crystal’s pristine surface containing White’s doll-like messenger. Immediately, Aku’s eyes narrow upon receiving the message and the warning she offers him but before he can properly lambaste her, the little doll retreats back into the wall. The opening of the doors, however, placates him and his would-be vitriol is reduced to a low, crackling growl. This is what he came here for, after all, and Aku wastes no time entering the ship, his form moving like a streak of shadow to land inside. Concerned onlookers are gathered below, hoping to catch a glimpse of their elusive leader but no such glimpse is provided as the doors grind to a close.
Once inside the fortress, Aku is instantly struck by an unholy brightness. He doesn’t cower from it but he does lean away and raise an arm to shield his eyes. Naturally, a creature of Darkness is no friend of the Light but this light does not belong to a god or a creature of virtue. Regardless, it makes his eyes squint and the bridge of his nose is creased with snarly ridges. It’s a moment before he can look directly at her and that’s when he realizes he’s in the rare presence of someone even taller than himself—by several times.
“White Diamond,” he speaks once he’s composed himself, his voice projecting easily in the massive space. The name isn’t familiar to him but her presence (and her horrible radiance) certainly are. He clasps his forearms behind his back as he stands, tall and proud. “I am Aku, Master of Darkness and Ruler of Earth. I have come to this dimension in search of you, O’ Radiant One.”
Again he squints and turns his head aside just slightly as if she could stand to be a little LESS radiant…
