Here comes Aku ready to give a big ol’ fat smooch on the shogun’s face. Smooooch.

He awoke with a start and blinked groggily at the intruder.

You dare to awaken the Mighty Aku from his nap?” he demanded, though his words were too tired to have any bite in them. But the demon wasn’t about to let his double get away so easily.

He grabbed hold of his alternate and tugged him down before he could escape, determined to turn him into his own personal blanket.

The demon lord did not even try to fight back against the hold. Instead; he moved towards his counterpart and nuzzled up beside him. “And I thought I was the one who often gets visitors.” A chuckle escapes him.

Well, he didn’t mind anyway. He’d enjoyed the other despite the two extreme differences, Aku slowly morphed his body into a more smaller state and in a humanoid shape form, resting against him in ecstasy.

You are lucky I have such tolerance for your visits,” he grumped playfully, silently appreciating how his other self hadn’t put up a fight.

Of course, Aku didn’t just tolerate his alternate’s visits, he genuinely enjoyed them, especially when the two of them could just curl up together and relax. Closing his eyes, he pressed his face closer until their striped noses touched.

He wrapped his arms around his alternate’s smaller form and held him in a tight embrace. Then he let out a big sigh, utterly comforted.

Here comes Aku ready to give a big ol’ fat smooch on the shogun’s face. Smooooch.

Kill the samurai? Black Hat had taken his soul and kept the mortal far away from Aku, was he really this sure it would all end in disaster? What little faith, it was almost sad to witness.

Before he could even ask why Aku thought Black would ever pay him, he disappeared. Did he leave? No, that would render his whole argument moot. There were only a few places Black could figure he went to, and he shadowstepped to several rooms before finding the Yokai in his trophy room.

Holding the divine blade.

Shit.

Instantly his demeanor changed, holding his hands up as if to suggest he wasn’t a threat. It was in here for a reason, next to some of his more breakable possessions. Damn fool, always trying to get his way even when that way was more work than it was worth.

“Aku, don’t do something STUPID you’ll regret. Put it back before you get hurt.”

Before I get hurt?” Oh. That was rich. Aku couldn’t help but let the amusement slip into his voice and spread across his face. “It sounds to me like YOU are the one afraid of being hurt. Between the Samurai and your dancing friends, one might assume you’d want it taken off your hands.”

As Aku saw it, he was doing Black a favor by removing the sword and taking it to a location far less infiltrated by heroes. The yokai gripped the sword tightly by the hilt and held the blade to his face to inspect and sniff it, as if to be sure this was the genuine article. Once satisfied he pointed the blade at Black Hat as if it were an extra finger.

Now then, let’s make this quick and easy, shall we? Summon for me your Samurai servant so I may slaughter him and be on my way.

An ultimatum, huh? This just got very serious indeed, and Black Hat stood, one visible eye blinking slowly. Who did Aku think he was, the grand master of everything? Demanding things and yelling at people when they did not act like slaves? Hah! Fat chance Black Hat would do ANYTHING for someone else without having at least three other goals in mind.

“Do you think I care what you have to say?”

A rhetorical question, really, when Aku was an embarrassment to their small little family of ancient evil.

“Especially since I have yet to see an increase of four googolplex?”

“There are RULES in place, Aku, and he can touch that sword no more than you or I. It’s almost funny, he hasn’t even tried yet. Perhaps he IS smarter than I gave him credit for— smart enough to know who is the bigger threat when stepping into a room with me.”

To all of this, Aku gave a derisive laugh. After all, between himself and the businesscreature, he was confident that it was HE who was the greater threat.

PAH! If that’s what you think then you are woefully misinformed. You will be seeing a DECREASE of 2.5 googolplex because it is I who must kill the Samurai. If anything, you should be sending ME payment for saving you from your own idiocy!”

Aku turned away and vanished in a great plume of black smoke… only to reappear elsewhere in the mansion almost instantly. Now he stood in Black Hat’s trophy room where he soon spotted the sword (to his relief) and stretched out his claws to grab it.

Aku was furious. Bypassing all measures of security, he teleported directly into Black Hat’s Manor without warning or invitation and threw open the doors to the Eldritch swindler’s office so hard it shook the entire building. The yokai’s massive presence filled the room instantly as he loomed over the desk, fists crashing down to either side of it.

WHEN I TOLD YOU TO KILL THE SAMURAI, IT WAS WITH THE EXPECTATION THAT HE WOULD REMAIN DEAD!! EVEN THE STUPIDEST OF BEASTS CAN GRASP THE CONCEPT OF ASSASSINATION AND YET IT HAS SOMEHOW MANAGED TO ELUDE YOU!?

Well. The cat was out of the bag. And a bit angry at that. Several nice, breakable objects tipped over and shattered on the floor as Aku grew in size and fury, and Black took his sweet time finishing the line on the newspaper he was reading before calmly setting it down. Aku had a LOT to learn about respect before Black Hat would explain himself.

His tone was on full offense, though he spoke slowly and deliberately as if explaining why a child couldn’t have two desserts before eating dinner. An eyebrow twitched, the only sign of a suddenly irate mood as he calmly folded his paper and set it aside.

“You didn’t tell me to do anything. I saw a pitiful villain, plagued by a human hero, and I OFFERED. You LEAPT at the opportunity for someone to do your dirty work, and I did.”

“You never said if I couldn’t rip his soul from valhalla and further torture it after I was done.”

The demon’s fists clenched so tightly they trembled as Aku fixed Black with a vicious glare. This FOOL! How could he just SIT HERE while the Samurai could be sneaking around the manor stealing back the sword at this very minute?

You offered to kill him, yes, but ONLY to convince yourself that you are half the villain you claim to be and for NO other reason!” he snarled, feeling a mighty need to set the record straight and let Black know he wasn’t fooling anyone but himself with that pitiful charade.

But that wasn’t enough for you, was it? You just had to add him to your collection. Now here you are housing both the sword and the Samurai beneath the same roof as if nothing could possibly go wrong. If you think the sword will not find its way back into his hands and then through your skull, you have surpassed even my lowest expectations into a SPIRALING ABYSS OF STUPIDITY!”

Reigning in his abject disgust for the creature that sat before him and for the situation he had created, Aku stood as tall as he could in the small space.

I will give you two choices, Hat,” he spoke with finality. “Hand over the sword or stay out of my way as I DESTROY the Samurai once and for all!”

Sorry I haven’t been around lately. I think I really just needed a break.

Having said that, please don’t assume my negligence is also my character’s. Just because I haven’t been around or haven’t been able to be involved in a plot does not mean my character is ignoring yours or doesn’t care about them.

I have stated this in my rules and I will state it again: if you want my character involved in a plot, you MUST contact me OOC. Otherwise, my character has no reason to know what yours is up to. He’s not a mind-reader nor is he watching your character’s every move. While I’m on the subject, I would also like to reiterate that Aku is an EXTREMELY POWERFUL character whose presence will change the outcome of a plot dramatically should he ever be involved. However, I will NOT godmode him into anyone’s plot without express permission from the players involved.

I’m not mad at anyone. I just want to be clear that I adhere strictly to the divide between IC and OOC and I don’t want me actions or lack thereof to be conflated with my character’s IC behavior. Thank you for reading.
