“—Is the issue on this late Christmas night, Kangi!?”
Kangi looked behind her and the shiny thing. She hopped up to and looked at it she didn’t know what it was and pulled it out from behind the flaming rock thing.
“What is it!?”
It was a silver and red tin wrapped with a ribbon. A tag on it read: ‘To Kangi’.
“No idea,” answered Aku, though the handwriting was clearly his. “Open it.”
Inside, the tin was filled with a variety of tree nuts, including some of Aku’s favorites — cashews and pistachios. They were all safe for birds.
“—Is the issue on this late Christmas night, Kangi!?”
Kangi fell back in alarm.
“There is no issue I just wanted wish you a merry Christmas and also sorry for waking you the other day.”
“…Ohhhhh, I see.”
Well, at least this time it wasn’t because she was bored. Aku settled back into his seat again with a low rumble. His claws tapped as his gaze seemed to land on something behind Kangi.
“Mhh, I think there is something behind you.” He gave a slight nod toward one of the flames near the wall. A hint of something shiny was peeking out behind it.
