“I welcome your return, Vendra, so long as you do not utilize me in your demonstrations.” He squinted.
“What?Oh no no,i am not gonna do that again,unless you become…naughty.”*chuckles*
“I just came to see how’s my friend.”
“I assure you I am nothing but naughty,” he grinned. “Though I vastly prefer the terms wicked, evil and malevolent.” Naughty did not begin to cover the evil that was Aku.
“I am well, Vendra. I have defeated one of my adversaries and turned the other to dust.” By accident, but victory was victory.
“Nicer? Pfeh! You must be mistaken.” The demon lord bared his fangs in derision. “I do not disagree that I am unique but nicer I am not.”
“You wanted to see my power,i showed it to you.Hope you’ve learned how valuable i am and you will respect me as i will respect you.I heard about you and your powers and i can say i am quite impressed too.”
Aku rumbled under his breath at her arrogance. It was a trait he found grating despite possessing so much of it himself. Regardless, he could not deny that she was a powerful ally who seemed to want nothing in return except for ‘friendship’.
“Yes, I suppose you would be if you seek alliance with the most powerful being in this galaxy,” he touted. “And what about your weaknesses? If you know mine, it’s only fair that I know yours.”
“Nicer? Pfeh! You must be mistaken.” The demon lord bared his fangs in derision. “I do not disagree that I am unique but nicer I am not.”
“Oh God!You dont need to struggle to break the bubble.And i thought you were smart.“She sighed and with a simple touch she broke the bubble as if it was made of soap.
What? Had it really been that easy to deactivate? Aku was quick to school his shocked expression into something more dignified.
“I was testing its integrity.” Right. Of course. “What else can you do?”
“Mr.Eye is the biggest and the baddest of the Nethers.He promised he will be my friend once i help him cross into this reality,but he betrayed me and imprisoned me in the Netherverse.I cant go back there because im already adapted to this reality and if i go there i will be weakened or even killed.He gifted me with powers like THIS!”
“Nicer? Pfeh! You must be mistaken.” The demon lord bared his fangs in derision. “I do not disagree that I am unique but nicer I am not.”
These being said,Vendra imprisoned Aku into a giant pink energy bubble with a simple gesture of her hand.
“BWUH—?!”
Aku was shocked to suddenly find himself enveloped in the energy bubble. His eyes shifted here and there at his pink surroundings. Then he banged a fist against the inner wall of the bubble. It was like hitting stone!
The demon narrowed his eyes and banged his fist again on the inside of the bubble, harder this time. Still, it was no use and Aku looked like a giant angry bee trapped inside a small jar. Finally, he blasted the inner wall of the bubble with his eyebeams to see if he could force his way out.
“Nicer? Pfeh! You must be mistaken.” The demon lord bared his fangs in derision. “I do not disagree that I am unique but nicer I am not.”
“You see,i dont rule over any people.All i have done in the past 20 years was to terrorize everyone while i was searching for a way to be reunited with the Nethers.Mr Eye,their leader,told me he was my friend but he betrayed me although he was the one who gave me my powers.The lack of friends and family left a void in my heart and i became cold and cruel,just like you.Now i seek to make friends without trying to scare them.”
This was quite a confession as far as Aku was concerned, but there was still more he desired to know.
“Who is this Mr. Eye and what powers did he grant you?”
“Nicer? Pfeh! You must be mistaken.” The demon lord bared his fangs in derision. “I do not disagree that I am unique but nicer I am not.”
“I summoned you because i wanted to chat with someone.You see,being far away from home and with no one by your side isnt quite easy.I think we share similarities and one of them would be that no one likes us.They fear us!So we could be friends.What do you say?”
As much as Aku wanted to contest that he wasn’t the most admired evil overlord in existence, the space witch wasn’t wrong. He could count on one hand the number of people who actually seemed to maybe like him a little. Nevertheless, it was still a sore spot for Aku and he grumbled softly. What she said next, though, caught him off guard.
Friends? The demon blinked twice in surprise. He was expecting her to ask for some kind of favor, not companionship.
Aku stroked his beard as he pondered what this could mean. Though it seemed like a simple request, he was still leery of her motives.
There was also the fact that the Almighty Aku had no need for friendship!
…And yet, had he not made a few in recent times?
“Alright, fine. But first tell me why you are so feared by your people.”
“Nicer? Pfeh! You must be mistaken.” The demon lord bared his fangs in derision. “I do not disagree that I am unique but nicer I am not.”
“No i am not going to slay you with a magical sword.I already posess magic powers and i think they are suffice to face you.Maybe they are not suffice to kill you but i still can fight you if i want.You are lucky i dont.”
She offered her hand to shake.
“It is nice to meet you by the way.Be careful not to break my hand though” she said with a cold tone.
“Then we are both lucky…” mumbled Aku. He took her hand delicately between his thumb and fore-claw and gave it a slight shake.
“Is that the only reason you have summoned me or is there something more?” he asked. More often than not, there was always something more.
