“no that’s aku” but what is Aku if not a reflection of the world that surrounds him? If you perceive the world as cruel, there’s only one real way to survive

Sad but true. The universe has been cruel to him and so he’s cruel right back.

It’s my headcanon that when Aku was still Azathoth the space blob, he went around devouring worlds and galaxies and such, not because he was evil, but because that’s what he existed to do.

I still wonder where the fuck he actually came from. Was he the magical remains of a destroyed god? Is he a black hole that gained a will of its own? Is he a collection of dark space energy that built up over time? Argh, someone tell me!

curioosity:

To be fair, I think Aku would be the one who would stop her from going to prom, while Gaster is the other. He has a thing with chocolates so he’s the most likely suspect. Also Aku is like a dad to her at this point!

Aku: “NO, AZURA. You will NOT be going to the prom with Gaster!

Aku: “You will be attending with ME, your father and chaperone.”

To be fair, Aku is a sorcerer. And this

is an altar.

Considering Buddhism is Jack’s religion, it makes sense that the religion of Aku (or the satanic figure) would be an inversion/corruption of Buddhism (instead of Christianity). We already know that Aku’s statue looks extremely similar to the Buddha seen elsewhere in the show.

And these statues even served a similar purpose; holding “divine” weapons

Also found this kind of interesting too…….from “Jack and the Haunted House”

ANYWAY Aku basically gave them his equivalent of holy water, which…you’re not really supposed to drink.

I did find something on wikipedia lol, bold text is mine:

The idea of “blessed water” is used in virtually all Buddhist traditions. In the Theravada tradition, water is put into a new pot and kept near a Paritrana ceremony, a blessing for protection. This “lustral water” can be created in a ceremony in which the burning and extinction of a candle above the water represents the elements of earth, fire, and air.[33] This water is later given to the people to be kept in their home. Not only water but also oil and strings are blessed in this ceremony.

lmfao “lustral water”

SO……it’s possible Aku just assumed they were going to keep it and worship it, and considering Aku’s essence even in small amounts can eventually regenerate into a full clone of Aku, he might have literally intended to leave them with “the original”, a part of him they could worship that would eventually become their own personal Aku?

It makes me think that Aku’s “But how? I never…” was supposed to be “never gave my essence to anyone…at least, anyone human” but then he remembered that he did….to a cult that he knew was all-female.

Then added to the fact that Aku doesn’t seem to know about what happened to Jack in “The Aku Infection”, he might not be aware of what actually ingesting his essence does.

And he proooooobably doesn’t know how human babby is formed, but knows belly happens, so all of this may be why he just assumes she drank it.

Which is funny as fuck by the way like

“There was that one time! So she must have………… drank it? …….and then here you are, a true daughter of Aku” like LMAO he has nooo idea how she pulled that shit off

curioosity:

It’s a bit weird to think that she’d be used to killing someone since she had training from Aku, but the demons in the dojo simply vanished like smoke whenever she struck the sword into them, not of flesh and bone.

Because Aku wasn’t trying to break her soul.

He just wanted her to learn how to defend herself.

If Aku let himself open his heart to happiness or if someone was willing enough to reach out to him and show him the light then he wouldn’t be such a tyrant…

…. but in the end he ended up dying without getting the chance to experience true happiness and love, and I feel bad for him…. poor baby….

I like teacupballerina’s idea that Ashi is the part of Aku that finally received love and experienced happiness. Her being half-human was just a good excuse to really speed things up. Getting Aku himself to open his ‘heart’ would take tons of dedication and a very long time. It’s easier to change small parts of him at a time, I guess.
