Zamasu was perplexed at the sight of the ordeal of this one mortal. A creature of Eldritch origin could have possibly destroyed this mortal in any other circumstance.
“Aku, do you honestly think that it is wise on his part for him to dabble in things that he can barely understand?”
The jade skinned god inquired as he looked to Aku, as his Saiyan subordinate stoically stood by the Kaioshin.
“Of course not. But when have mortals of his type ever been wise?”
Aku warned the foolish scientist himself but did he listen? No.
“Some mortals die by their decisions, but he is lucky enough to live with his.” …So far.
“In the elders tongue?” Flug seemed a bit surprised. “It had some kind of sentience then. But, it was a heart- ugh, weird. I still have tests to run then. For something to gain sentience like that is pretty scary.”
“These voices you hear, Flug. What does it sound like they are saying?”
“Perhaps you should find another hot spring to suit yourself.”
Without further ado, the demon lord slid into his side of the hot spring. But as large as he was, Aku took up nearly the whole spring and his tentacles stretched clear across to the other side.
“Uh…” he thought for a long moment. “I remember your voice, a blinding light…”
“…And then my head exploded?”
Ah, it was as he’d expected. The thing had been in the driver’s seat while Flug was passed out in the trunk. Or so some might say.
“Something like that. I came to torment the creature inhabiting your body for my own amusement. It hated the light and I sought to make it suffer,” he recounted plainly as if torment was a part of his daily routine.
“Then, through you, the creature addressed me in the tongue of the Elder Ones.” Aku waited to see if any of this would register in Flug’s mind.
“I’m hearing voices, they’re speaking in tongues I’m familiar with but not flaunt in. So far it’s nothing beyond this, but, I intend to keep tabs on it. My research into it can only continue from here. I’m lucid, if a little “off my rocker” so to speak.”
“I see.” Aku narrowed his eyes just slightly as he considered this. It was almost as if… “Flug. Do you have any memory of our previous encounter?”
“No no! Whatever part is left is intangible! It can’t be removed!”
“A deep part of my subconscious mind or something.”
The demon crept closer with razor-sharp claws extended. But as Flug explained in further detail, Aku paused his slow ambush.
“Subconscious mind? Hmmm…” Yes, that did complicate things. He would probably need a sharper blade for that. Withdrawing his claws, Aku tapped his chin ponderously.
“What makes you think it exists there? Are you having strange thoughts?”
He bent closer and drew a clawed digit. The talon grew longer, thinner and impossibly sharper, sharp enough that it gleamed like a scalpel in the light.
