“Hm?” Casper leaned over to look. “Oh. These are my…demons? I guess. They haunt me, at home, or at work, one of them lives in the mirror.” she pointed out one with long limbs and gleaming eyes.
“I call him “The Horror” he lives in the ferris wheel.” she pointed to another with a mouth full of teeth and narrow eyes. “This is the mirror creature. He can talk, but it’s never a fun day when he does. The one here dwells in dark spaces in my home.” It had wide eyes and an open mouth, appearing to slither for movement. Casper leaned back to let him finish browsing, hoping that satisfied his curiosity about them.
“I can always bring one with better pictures.”
Hmph. Amateurs, he thought. Aku was much more frightening than these pitiful fools. They might, however, be useful as minions.
“And are these demons your friends?” It didn’t seem like they would be but Aku could be a bit tone-deaf at times. “Or do they torment you at every turn? Are they powerful?”
The girl turned around “Well… I just thought you wouldn’t want to hang out with someone like me, you know… you being an evil overlord and all” she said sadly. “You probably don’t have time for stuff like that….”
“You are correct. ‘Hanging out’ with mere mortals is far beneath the glory of Aku,” the demon said with a singular stroke of his beard.
“However—” He raised a clawed finger. “I always have time to hear my praises being told.”
While Aku might not have enjoyed having something he cared about used as a weapon, Gaster found it endlessly amusing. Taking the opportunity, he shifts into a more solid form, grinning wide at the other.
“And how will you find all of that? It’s debatable if you can kill me, but how would you ever access my research? I assure you, it’s not nearly as easy to find as I am. Perhaps I should crush her soul now, just to see if you could ever find my lab~?”
“I will put this simply, Doctor. You are not the only one who is able to part with his essence. I have existed for countless eons and I shall exist for countless more. I have seen the rise and fall of many universes and I have survived them all. What I am saying is I have all of eternity to hunt and exterminate you like the foul pest that you are.”
While Aku delivered his ‘diabolical’ monologue, the crater left behind from his laser blasts silently filled itself in with a viscous, black tar that rose up from beneath the earth. Soon it had crested and spilled onto the surface where it crept silently toward the spot where Gaster stood.
Gaster could admit, this creature was powerful. Anybody who had enough power to decimate the very ground was no force to be trifled with. Still. Once the monster found a moment of reprieve, he smiled up at Aku, eyesockets narrowed.
“Oh, certainly. You make more of a challenge than that Azura girl, that’s for sure. But I would becareful, if I were you. You wouldn’t want me to get angry with your antics, and squeeze her soul until it pops, would you?”
The amusement drained from Aku’s face in an instant. To have something he cared about wielded against him like a weapon was a novel experience for him and he absolutely did notlike it. The demon’s nostrils flared as he seethed through clenched teeth.
“You do that and not only will I DESTROY YOU, but I will DESTROY all that you hold dear AND your entire collective of research!”
“You are missing the point! I am not looking for any commitment right away, I do not seek companionship nor do I ever want to be in a relationship. I am perfectly fine on my own without this sort of nonsense.”
“Well, neither do I! I unwittingly entered your domain only to find out we are suddenly married!”
