This one was a little trickier to avoid. It wasn’t just a blast of hot fire, it was two beams of white-hot light. But Gaster employed the same trick as before- his form wavered and he became less solid, more like a living liquid than a monster.

He rolled out of the way of the beams, dodging the lights as they drew near. Gaster wasn’t entirely sure if they would hurt him if they touched him- but he was in no mood to find out.

Whether the beams could harm Gaster was yet undetermined but they sure did destroy whatever else they touched. The ground beneath erupted in a spray of newly incinerated material, scalding smoke and chunks of debris.

Aku watched from above with hands on his hips, grinning.

Peh heh heh heh heh,” he chuckled mockingly with a steady rise and fall of his bladed shoulders. “Are you enjoying my wrath, Doctor, what little of it you have seen thus far?

The monster’s smile twitched upwards at Aku’s fury, finding the approaching flames almost funny. In an instant, the monster’s body had changed- no longer was he a solid mass, standing firm against the tide of fire. He was an amorphous mass, speeding out of the way of any potential harm.

Once he was out of the way of the fire, the monster, still rather goopy, stared back at Aku, defiant and amused. “Did you truly think that would work?”

Aku narrowed his eyes as Gaster’s true form came to light. The way his solid form had so easily shifted into an amorphous mass was strikingly familiar.

Luckily (or unluckily for most), the demon lord was no one-trick wonder. His bulbous eyes blazed suddenly with a white, hot glow before two incinerating beams of light shot forth. One way or another he wanted to inflict pain.

“Aww c’mon man, you’re awesome and you know it” she says as she gives him the finger guns. The girl then realized something, “You know, I’m not so scared anymore” she began, “heck, I didn’t think I’d get this far….” and she was right! It would take someone with a lot of guts to get here.

“But you know, I wasn’t lying when I said I really wanted to see you” she said. But then she made a sad sigh, “Then again, if you want me to leave…. then I guess I’ll have to…” she said as she was about to walk away.

Aku basked contently in her glowing admiration. It wasn’t often people came to him of their own free will to express their genuine adoration. But all too soon she was turning to leave.

You’re leaving so soon? Is there somewhere you must be?

“NO. You know exactly what you did, don’t lie! I’ve already dealt with enough without having to be married to my alternative.”

image

WHA?

So you are marrying whomever enters through the front door? I don’t see how that could be MY fault. I had no idea you wanted to be married so badly.”

Aku didn’t have time to react when his alternative started to throw glitter at him. He let out a horrified screech; making a hissing sound come out of him as he growled and got glitter all over him.

“OH, now you’ve done it!” He yelled before pulling out a whole bag from his body. And grabbing a handful of it as he throws some at the other. “You cannot escape from my clutches.”

He laughed; though what he didn’t know he was having too much fun over this.

Aku turned his head a full 180 degrees to avoid taking that glitter-shot to the face. When his head twisted back around, he was grinning wickedly.

Not so fast, friend,” Aku said. “For it shall be YOU who are in MY clutches!”

As he spoke, several tentacles lashed out from his body toward his twin in an effort to snag him.

Casper perked up at the question and turned the sketchpad over letting him take it.

“Here, feel free to look. Most of it can be pretty mundane. Birds, locals from my town, landscapes in some.” and plenty of the farris wheel but she didn’t mention, more focused on some of the other drawings. The contorted monsters were what really stood out, each of them a sort of edrich that promised pain in their stances to all who approached them, even though they were just drawings.

Aku flipped through the drawings one at a time, somehow managing to avoid tearing the pages with his large claws. Most of the drawings seemed mundane… though he noticed the Ferris wheel seemed to appear over and over. What really caught his attention, of course, were the other monsters.

Who are these creatures?” he asked, pointing to the pages.

Anyone else might have been left trembling before Aku, swearing they would do as he asked. But not Gaster. No, Gaster regarded the other with a smile, shake of his head, and a low, dark chuckle.

“Oh, my poor, misguided friend. Do you truly think there is nothing left to study? Her soul is a veritable treasure-trove of knowledge. I’m not removing my mark. Ever.”

Yes, you WILL!” Came Aku’s snarling retort. But he could see that words were getting nowhere. This ‘Doctor’ was stubborn and in need of something more convincing than words alone.

In a display of power and fury, Aku opened his maw and unleashed a great torrent of flame in Gaster’s direction.
