“Ah hello Aku. Don’t worry, I’m not going to harm Azura. I’m assuming that is why you’re glaring.”
Thoth had assumed correctly. There were things Aku had heard as of late of which he did not approve. He continued to glare coldly at the god.
“So you say,” he spoke, voice rumbling like distant thunder from an oncoming storm. “But I must wonder, Thoth, do you intend to help Gaster harvest what lies within her soul? Answer me truthfully, O’ Knowledgeable One.”
“No, unless she wishes me to. His idea is a good one, and I’ve seen the effects of that stone- how she hurt the little girl in the midst of chaos. But I won’t be doing such a thing unless asked…The knowledge of it, however, would be interesting, and if it is harming her…well… The answer is still no.”He waves his hand a bit, claws turning red before fading back out.
“Is there anything else you’d like to know?”
“That stone is her only defense against Gaster!” snarled Aku. “If it is removed, he will torture and slaughter her, then use the stone’s power to further expand his vengeance upon the universe.”
The demon’s words were sharp but at least he wasn’t screaming insults at the god. Not yet, at least.
“In the time that I have known Azura, she has not complained of any harm caused by the stone. If there is harm being done, it is because she and her soul have been so physically taxed by the harm Gaster has already caused them. I don’t care how interesting it might be to study the stone. I don’t care about what knowledge could be gained from it. Azura is MINE and if you aid in harming her for any reason, I will retaliate!”
It hadn’t escaped his notice that Thoth had taken on a different appearance. Normally, he wouldn’t care but the darkness he sensed from the god further roused his already heightened suspicions. his gaze flicked from Thoth’s physical appearance back to his singular eyeball.
“And, yes, there is something else I’d like to know. When did you become corrupted?”

“….My daughter… wanted him to be back to normal. Don’t scream at me, I’m dealing with enough grief over this Aku. He hasn’t learned his lesson, but the way things were turning out, it wouldn’t have been a lesson, to begin with.”
“A crush? You do realize I’m taken, correct? It is not a guise. Despite his evil ways and actual ways of doing the research, the facts are in my files. Do not try to lower my understanding of said matters because you’re in a tantrum.”
He appears in front of him, hands on his ‘hips’ as he stares at him.
“I’m partial to those I enjoy, yes, you have me pegged. Just as you’re partial to those you care about. It’s an emotional struggle over cold logic. If you bothered to clean your ears Aku, you would have heard my statement. I’m placing Azura under my favor now. She won’t be harmed anymore.”
What was with the gods and slobbering excessively over his enemies, granting them special gifts, second chances, endless mercy and the like? But when it came to him? Only scorn and attempted slaughter, even when he was trying to do something good. Aku didn’t understand it and he knew he never would.
As soon as Thoth appeared before him, the demon averted his eyes and bared his teeth in contempt. Leave it to a god to once again treat him like an inferior being. Keeping his temper in check was quickly becoming a test of his will.
“I heard your words. But you give me no reason to believe them. Will you truly protect Azura or will you bend to the “charms” of your precious friend?” Aku sneered, turning away once more.
“I suggest you learn the errors of your ways, Thoth. And do it quickly. Before he takes from you what you hold most dear and destroys it.”
Without a glance back, the demon took his leave and disappeared.
His eye twitches, but nothing more as the other slams his fist down in rage. He has every right to be angry, and he really wasn’t setting a prime example of divine justice here. Not that justice was under his belt, that was his deceased wife but still…

“Yes, actually, I am partial to him. I am always partial to those seeking knowledge- No matter if they are wicked or not. Azura… Did not deserve anything that was done to her, that is why I judged him.”
He groans under his ‘breath’.
“My daughter is naive, but make no mistake- I have warned him. He will be my next decoration if she is hurt. The same goes for Azura now.”
Aku’s fists clenched. His eyebrows flickered and sparked with fury.
“Knowledge? — PFEH!! He seeks only revenge, control and hatred under the guise of knowledge! Are you telling me you fell victim to mindlessness because of a SCHOOL GIRL CRUSH?!”
Exasperated, he threw his claws into the air and turned away in disgust.
“You gods are all the same,” came his hateful grumbling from over his shoulder. “You are always partial to one side or another for all the wrong reasons and you are blind to the consequences of your foolish actions. You are the very definition of capricious. You are worse than humans.”

The demon lord slammed down his massive fist and pointed a clawed finger at the god. He knew better than to threaten a god with violence but he was not afraid to show his rage.
“YOU FOOL!! — FIRST OF ALL why would you allow your daughter near that fiend when you KNOW what he is capable of doing??
AND FURTHERMORE!HOW DARE YOU BETRAY AZURA. What is with you and this monster? Are you partial to him? IS THAT IT?”
“That hideous entity has tormented my Azura for far too long,” Aku spoke with narrowed eyes. The worst part of all? He had no control whatsoever over the situation and he hated it. After all, Aku was no hero and he was no being of light. To fight darkness with darkness was pointless and it would only have hurt Azura more. Stepping away had been his only option.
Until now. Make no mistake, the demon lord utterly despised gods, but if this god could help Azura in any way, Aku would lend his support (at least until the ordeal was over.) Most importantly was getting rid of Gaster.
The flames upon his brow flickered as he eyed the god before him and growled:
“He must go.”
Hewatches him before he lifts up his hand and summons tea. He didn’t respond at first, he hadn’t a reason to as the other clearly looks aggravated. Yes, Gaster needed to be dealt with and he had already placed the judgment down. He would be mortal, a human of which he despises and that would not be lifted until he relents or says he’s sorry…
And truly means it.
“He has been rendered mortal, more importantly? Mortal. Azura would not allow me to kill him, or to let Ammut eat his soul.”
“—!!”
Mortal? The god had rendered the doctor mortal? That was a fate worse than death! Aku was stunned silent for several seconds. This should probably be concerning to him… if it were not so HILARIOUS!
Suddenly, Aku burst into a fit of wild and wicked laughter.
“BWAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! MORTAL YOU SAY? HAHAHA HAAAAAAHAHAHA!!” The demon clutched his gut in hysterics.
