Ashi watched her father’s display with great interest. Despite all the lies her mother had told her, she had been right about one thing; he was immensely powerful. When she was younger, this fact always made her feel safe. Her father could always protect her from any threat, and used his powers of intimidation to make sure his daughters were treated well.
But as she watched the people cower in terror, she felt a sense of guilt within her. They hadn’t done anything wrong; why was her father scaring them?Shaking her head, she continued to observe Aku. He was wiser than she – he was doing the right thing.
She was watching closely. Excellent. Once again, Aku set his sights on the city where throngs of terrified townsfolk stood frozen in silence. Now that he had their full attention in his grasp, the demon lord moved slowly toward them, his massive form casting a dark shadow that lay across the entire city.
As he approached the first tall building, his hand came down upon its roof and crushed it as if it was made of paper. Chaos broke out below as the people began to scream and run in every direction.
